Be a Mayor’s First Day Festival Volunteer!
Each year the Festival draws more than 20,000 people downtown for educational activities, entertainment and free school supplies. The purpose of the Festival is to get the entire community focused on education and what better time to celebrate education than around the first day of school.
We are in the process of recruiting individual volunteers and volunteer groups lead by Nashville’s leading companies and organizations.
More than 300 volunteers are needed for the event. Volunteer tasks include:
Backpack distribution
Booth load in support
Entertainment hospitality (including load in and stage management),
Volunteer hospitality
Crowd control
Clean-up
For companies and organizations: Lead a First Day Festival Volunteer Team! Nashville’s greatest companies and non-profit organizations are offering to head up the team and recruit 10 - 20 members for event volunteer tasks. This is a great and fun way to get your organization involved in community service. The leader of the organizational team chooses from one of the tasks above, and we train the team to perform that task. If you are interested in heading up a volunteer team, please check the box on the volunteer sign up form to indicate your interest.
Please complete the on-line registration in it's entirety. You will receive a confirmation that your registration has been received.
